Bouncing Back from My Weightloss Battle

Sunday Apr 22, 2012

I am attempting really hard to lose weight; it is more because of health reason. I am at my biggest weight as of the moment and I can already feel the effect of it. I know for a fact that health and weight are strongly connected to each other. I am still not keen in taking weightless supplement (i.e. slimvox, xenical, pretty model).

I am quite successful in refraining from drinking soft drinks. I am really trying hard to be discipline – for the past 2 weeks – it is either half cup of rice or no rice at all. Yesterday was a very triumphant day to me. My family and I celebrated the wedding anniversary of my parents in an “eat all you can” resto. Surprisingly, I was able to eat moderately – veggies and fish only.

I am still to weigh and measure myself for improvement. I am keeping my fingers cross that I will successfully lose weight and may I be able to retain the discipline to have a healthy diet too.

Memory Foam Mattress for Restful Nights

Wednesday Jan 4, 2012

For a person with a back or neck problem like me, an ordinary mattress with spring or unsafe and sturdy foam could be dangerous. Even those doesn’t have such dilemma, lying on a comfortable bed is a need.

I just recently discovered a memory foam mattress which I find it very suitable for me and my family. It is a great thing that this kind mattress was invented because it gives a lot of comfort and support in my body especially the neck, back and legs.

Resting in a memory foam mattress, you would feel like sleeping more than a waterbed. No more cramps and numbness in the morning!

On the sidenote:  Just had my MRI and Cervical Spine Xray done unfortunately I am diagnosed with Cervical Spondylosis (case similar to ex-President Gloria Arroyo) and Straightening of Cervical Lordosis. :(   I am still waiting for my doctor to come back from his vacation so I can have his full diagnosis.  I am praying that I will not undergo surgery and just have a physical theraphy and rehabilitation.

Argan Oil as a Natural Beauty Treatment

Monday Jul 4, 2011

The use of argan oil as a natural beauty and medicinal alternative has been gaining popularity.

Argan oil is extracted from the kernels/nuts of the fruit produced by the argan tree which is said to be a common tree found in Morocco. Although. It is said to be endemic in Morocco, it’s fruit growth is only limited thus producing only small supply making it rare thus the drawback is high price in the market.

Based on my research here are some of the benefits that you can get from Argan Oil:

  • For the skin: it is said to be an anti aging aid that helps reduce wrinkle and softens the skin.
  • Pregnant woman can also apply this to their belly and legs to prevent stretch marks.
  • For those with brittle nails like mine, you can apply this in the surface of the nails to make it stronger.
  • This can also be applied similar to an eye cream before sleeping to prevent the onset of wrinkles around the eyes.
  • It is also said that argan oil is a good hair aid to avoid damaged hair, frizzy hair and split ends as well.
  • While most of the benefits are geared to address mostly aesthetics concern, it is also a good natural cure for arthritis and rheumatism.
  • While natural cure brings promise, it is still best to consult your medical expert.

My Point of View on Beauty Enhancement

Friday May 27, 2011

As I look in the mirror I can not hide the fact that age is showing up. I am already 38 years old going on 39 this year, but I can totally remember my deceased grandmother who told us that we should always take care of ourselves. When she was still alive, she would always look at her best even though she is just at home. During her younger days she has her own beauty salon and making others beautiful was her business. Mommy told us specially her grand daughters that we should be beautiful inside and out.

I may not be your usual fashionista, but I do take care of myself. I live a clean-living and wholesome life – I do not drink nor smoke, but I sleep late because of my insomnia.

What makes me different from my Grand Mother is that she would always advise us to do it the natural way, For me be it natural or whatever is now available due to the wonders of new medicine is acceptable.

If you will ask me what is my point of view on beauty enhancement:

Amor Cielo Answers : If I have the money and the guts during that time then why not. I do not see anything wrong with beauty products and enhancement since you owe it to yourself anyway. But of course, I would research about the reviews and feedbacks for that certia treatment or product. {example of review is dermitage reviews – a wrinkle cream product.}. If I found out that a certain treatment or product has negative feedback then it is my discretion not to be subjected to it or take the risk if I decide to pursue it. At the end of the day, it is always you choice.

Dagandang

Wednesday Apr 13, 2011

Thanks to the wonders of Internet I was able to learn something today. I learned that “Dagandang” is the Tagalog word for Sunburn. Actually I had long been asking my Lola and Mom to translate Sunburn to Tagalog and unfortunately I cannot seem to find the answer. Thanks to WikiHealth of WikiPilipinas.
