Caring For My Dad

Saturday Aug 4, 2012

Just recently, my dad was brought to the hospital because his legs got swollen.  He was hospitalized and test was made on his legs.  We were so worried and down since my dad has already difficulty standing up and walking.  While waiting for the test result, my family was praying really hard that it won’t really be that bad and it  was a huge relief when the test came out and found out that it is potassium deficiency which are common to old people. So the doctor gave my dad medicines and advise us to buy him a knee walkers, since it will take time for him to properly walk by himself again.  Unfortunately, my Dad finds it even harder for him to use so we opted for a aluminum cane for him.  I just hope that he will be able to get better each day.

I just hope that Dad’s health will be better.  This is also the very reason why I seldom update my blogs.  I have different priorities now, but once in a while I do love to pop in and update my neglected blogs

Gift of Time

Saturday Mar 10, 2012

I am one of the lucky daughter in law in this world. Just when everyone else is ranting about their mother in law, I can not say anything bad with my Mom in law that we fondly called as Nanay. She has 4 sons and no daughter. She treats her daughter in laws as her own. Out of her 4 sons, 3 are working abroad. I know how she feels since most of the time they are not always complete during special occasions and gathering. If I have my way, the best mother in law gifts or let us say a wish that I can give her is the gift of time from his kids.

Well, since she is really good, I guess Santa must be listening to my wish. All of his 3 sons will be home for a vacation this Christmas. Shhhh…this is a secret…To good that Nanay will not be able to read this post since she is not fond of the Internet.

Being a Mom – an Honorable Profession

Tuesday Jan 10, 2012

“I looked on childrearing not only as a work of love and duty but as a profession that was fully interesting and challenging as any honorable profession in the world and one that demanded the best that I could bring to it.” –Rose Kennedy, mother of former U.S. president John F. Kennedy (1890-1995)

Reminiscing Mode

Friday Nov 11, 2011

Time flies so fast, in a couple of weeks it’ll be Christmas then New Year. And before you know it it’s Valentine’s Day again. How I miss my OFW hubby Allan during this day especially when I see married couples celebrating it together. I know we may not go on date physically but he still manage to be loving and sweet to me by sending a  valentines day flower delivery which never fails every year. He always makes an effort to show me and his kids how much he loves us. And I’m very thankful for having a loyal and supportive hubby.

Haizzz, enough of the reminiscing mode and reality must sink in.  I can now feel the Christmas air, with all the decors around the city.  This Christmas will be quite lonely since OFW hubby will not be celebrating with us.  But as a Mom, I have to make this Christmas season happy for my kids.  Year 2012 Christmas season will be a lot happier though since that will coincide with hubby’s annual vacation.  But for this Xmas season, we will just be contented to chat.

Happy 18th Birthday – My ISHI

Saturday Oct 15, 2011

How time flies so fast, but we cannot hold the hands of time. Today is the 18th birthday of my daughter.

The moment I gave birth to my little princess, Ishi, I never realized exactly what a special loving relationship a mom and daughter can have. As Ishi got older and began to comprehend much more about being a woman, my spouse and I felt as though we were once more going through the many phases of growing up. We have felt an extremely strong desire to shield Ishi from any situation that might possibly hurt her; however I knew that when we do that, it would hurt her in the future mainly because she would most likely not be ready to face real life. So, my spouse and I tried to present her and show her exactly what we consider to be essential things in life. Because we can only shield her that much but in time she should face life as it is

Our mother-daughter relationship is composed of an extremely profound understanding of love and support for each other, and it’s also based on a whole lot of emotion and understanding. Although we are two diverse personalities, Ishi being more finesse and Mama being more of the happy Mama.

I would always tell you previously not to grow up so fast, but now I will tell you other wise. Grow up to be a wonderful lady, considerate of the feelings of others. Make a difference in your life by sharing kindness unto others. Be a joy to others, but do not forget to also fulfill your dreams, hope and aspiration in life.

Always remember with freedom to take decisions comes the responsibility to take the right ones. Welcome to adulthood!

In your 18th birthday, there are countless words on my thoughts; however I have no idea how to convey all of them…. I would like to let you know…. I’m really proud of you…..Happy birthday Anak!!!!! May you be happy in this new milestone in your life. Papa, Mama and Icko loves you very much….

Glad That I Faced the Challenges of Life

Monday Apr 25, 2011

SAHMone Speaks Meme #4:

Was there a time in your life when you thought “running away” was the only solution to your problem?

Amor Cielo Answers:

It is really foolish of me then to think then that I can ran away from what I thought was a big problem.  I am a product of a teenage marriage, and just like any circumstances like this it is a usual case of an unwanted pregnancy that time.  It was a deep struggle where in both my hubby and I almost gave in and run away from it all.  I am glad that we did not give up on each other…We had just celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary last March, but ours is not an easy journey.

Excerpt from my Brown Pinay blog about our Teenage Maariage Struggle:

Our first 5 years were really a struggle to our relationship. Just when I thought that money does not matters in a married life, we prove it wrong. No matter how deeply in-love you might be, when you dont have enough and you dont know where to get food and milk to feed your kids, that is where you started to realize all your follies, you started to realize that indeed life is not a bed of roses. Although money does not buy happiness, it is true that a tight financial situation can create tensions which can affect an otherwise happy relationship.

My Worries are Mine….

Sunday Apr 17, 2011

SAHMone Speaks Meme #3:

Do you tell your significant other everything about your worries?

Amor Cielo Answers:

Although, my hubby and I can talk on practically everything, Id rather keep all my worries myself. I am a very extrovert person – a happy person I might say. But whenever something bothers me, I don’t usually share it with someone not even to my hubby and kids. Although we are partners, I find it odd in my character to impart my inconveniences to someone not even him. Sometimes, when things comes to worst and he discovered that I had this worries in me, he makes “tampo” for not entrusting him. One time he even told me that I am judging his ability to listen and be a partner.  But ofcourse, exceptions are our marital relationship and matters about our kids which we openly discuss and mutually share.

I must admit that I am putting a wall between me and just about anyone in my life.  I dont want them to worry about me, I dont want them to worry about my worries.
