Beware of Pacific Link Travel and Tours -Boracay 3D/2N Package

Warning: Don’t avail the Boracay 3D/2N package being offered by Pacific Link Travel and Tour – their promo is a SCAM. Their tour packages are being offered by various group buying sites. My best friend bought their package from ebay.ph, and they did not get their money’s worth which is accommodation from La Carmela + airfare. The personnel of Pacific Link were communicating with my friend when she was still not fully paid. But the problem arised when she was already fully paid and asking for the confirmation of the flight and the room assignment with just a few days left from their desired vacation date. My friend was asked if they can move the schedule in a later day, which my friend vehemently disagree and told Pacific to stick on their scheduled day since everything has been set (from their Vacation leaves, even to the smallest details i.e. tanning supply, vacation outfit and even their boracay itinerary).
My friend really has a hard time with pacific Link; I knew it since aside from being my best friend she is also my office seatmate. Imagine, with just a few days away and there are still no flight details and room assignment for La Carmela. When she has a chance to talk to one of the customer support of Pacific, she irately told them to book her a flight ASAP and she will be the one to shoulder her accommodation. They were able to avail of the airfare kasi irate na si dear friend…She just cannot afford to spoil the vacation since it is also her vacation gift to her dear hubby. She just have to push through with their Bora trip at all cost – indeed at “HER COST”. Grrrrr.
But the irony of it all, she was wondering why Pacific Link was insisting that there is no available rooms and they cannot be book at la Carmela on their desired days. But my friend was able to book one from the same hotel; the transaction with La Carmela went so smoothly in less than 4 hours of communication. At that point Pacific Link was already unreachable.
They were also supposed to fly via Cebu Pac as stated in their promo but Pacific link booked them with Zest Air. Also, when they were asked to pay for the full payment, they were asked to pay via an account of a personal name and not thru the company name Pacific Link. Hmmm something fishy?
But in fairness to ebay.ph, my friend and several others who availed of the 3D/2N Boracay vacation offered by Pacific Link and purchased via ebay.ph were emailed by ebay asking for their feedback regarding their transaction with pacific Link Travel and Tours. It was there that my friend realized that she was not the only one victimized since almost those who were emailed by eBay reacted negatively and ranted about their bad experience.
I am sharing you this story so that others may be warned, Mayruong Pacific Link promo now sa Metrodeal…Ingat na lang. I hope that you will be able to read this before you buy their package. Also, it will be greatly appreciated if eBay intervenes in behalf of those who have availed of this Boracay promo. If it is indeed cannot be pushed through, a refund for their hard earned money is well deserved.
Update as of March 22, 2012: Someone who is also about to leave this weekend has already been given flight details and room reservation information at La Carmela. I was informed that they told Pacific that this will be brought to the attention of NBI, DTI and other consumer groups if they will not get the promo in their deisred travel time. Kailangan pa ba ng takutan????
However it seems to be an empty promise since there are still no details sent.
Update as of March 26, 2012: Pacific Link cannot be contacted anymore
Update as of March 29, 2012: The Pacific Link promo underMetroDeal was no longer existing.
Update as of April 3, 2012:I was informed by another officemate that they are able to refund their money, I still have to verify if they got the full amount or just the money they paid to eBay.
Also, Pacific Link’s defense is that a key personnel resigned who holds their account resigned, thus the whole hullabaloo. But this is not an excuse, as a business it is their responsibility to ensure business continuity so as not to hamper their operation more so their service to their client. But still this is not yet an excuse, thus it is not a forgivable defense,





Scams are really everywhere and we have to make sure that if we book something and if money is invloved, make sure it is trusted and genuine…

Syaks, may scam din pala sa mga group buying sites. mas ok pa pala ang system ng Deal Grocer for example, kasi ang alam ko sa kanila, the money goes directly to them and they pay the merchant only after the promo has been availed of by the customers. so pag nagloko si merchant, mahahabol pa si Deal Grocer with respect to the money paid.

ito kasi initially sa eBay nagbayad, then my best friend was instructed to pay it dun sa Pacific…sana nga ganun katulad sa Deal Grocer.

i never really trusted travel agencies and those websites giving discounted vouchers for trip to somewhere. mas prefer ko pang ako nalang mag book kasi we can always get the discount we want especially if kakilala naman yung owner ng hotel or something…. great share sis, i’ll let others know about this.

I also recently had a scam. I own a rental condo in Hilton Head SC USA. Recently I received a reservation from a party in the UK. This was not unusual.
However, after I sent a contract, I received another email from the alleged renter. She stated that she had overpaid me and the check she sent was for both airfare and my rental, she asked me to return the overage when I received the check.
Well, I replied that I was employed by a major bank in the USA, and when I received her check I would send it to check if it was authentic to our anti money laundering unit.
needless to say, I never received the check or heard from the renter again.

I have the same experience as your friend. We’re 6 pax and our travel is scheduled on April 13-15, 2012 but then ebay called e that we can’t be booked in la carmela and we will be booked in alice in wonderland resort. I searched that resort and it’s disgusting to see those bad reviews about the resort. I called the agency and I’m so mad at them because we already paid the downpayment last september so they should’ve reserved us early as september. Now, I don’t received any updates from them. I don’t know what happen to our money.

Before kmu nagpa book nag confirm muna kami sa travel agent about sa date na gusto namin e book. Ok daw. And then after nagbayad ang hubby ko hindi ko na ma contact ang agent di sinasagot ang tawag ko. Hina hung pa yata yung phone,i tried to use a different number i wonder sinagot nung same travel agent. She sounded nervous. She even told me to wait dahil yung boss nya yung mag re reply sa email. So we’ll see next week. I regret talaga na ngapa book kmi!!

The agency promised me today that they will send me the tickets this coming week and I told ebay kuponan about that but they aren’t trusting the agency anymore because of this conflict done by pacific link travel and tours.

sometimes, it really makes we wary ordering things online–especially about travel packages. im okay with online airline booking, but not tours and travels. i would still rather go to my local agent

I’ve availed of many deals since I first learned of it and though some of the merchant are not so accommodating as the others, the group buying site I’ve bought them would be cooperative always! I just feel bad that sa atin often nangyayari ang ganito…always in the Philippines

I am also a victim of these unscrupulous SCAMMERS. Same thing happened to us, purchased the vouchers then when we paid in full, we couldn’t contact Pacific link anymore. Now eBay kuponan promised to help us contact them. Last week they called to say we were booked at a different resort, Alice in Wonderland. We refused and demanded a refund.
Now this is the sad part…I received a call yesterday from a certain Calvin from eBay kuponan. He told me that Pacific link has already ran away from them and they cannot contact them anymore. They promised for a refund of the full amount we purchased. That should be fine with us, except that we bought additional 2 vouchers for my 2 girls ages 10 and 9, and extra plane fare for my 3 year old. We even paid extra 4,000 for an additional night since our travel date back to Manila falls on a holiday (May 1), and they said that they cannot book on holidays, so we decided to extend 1 more day. In short, these additional payments were paid in full to the Pacific link account, around 30,000 in total amount.
Now the problem is, this Calvin from eBay kuponan informed me that they CANNOT refund the money that we paid directly to Pacific link because according to them, they will only refund the amount coursed through eBay and not our “other” transactions with Pacific link. This made me sooo furious because, if not for them, I would not have made any transactions with Pacific link. I told them that it’s their fault for advertising UNTRUSTWORTHY clients, and they should be responsible in checking out the legitimacy of a client/company before offering it to eBay consumers. After all, they were the ones who said to transact with Pacific link and pay the rest of the amount with them.
When it appeared that this Calvin person cannot help me, I started demanding to talk to someone in authority. He passed on the phone to his “manager”, I didn’t catch her name though coz I was so emotional and frustrated at that point. Then she started saying the same things this Calvin person said (she was even worse in handling irate customers than Calvin) and even told me not to shout at her coz I am not the only one who’s stressed-out in this situation. I even got more furious with her because she was insisting that eBay also suffered in this situation, and that they don’t even know if they will have their jobs after all these… without even trying to understand my situation first. I told her that our frustrations does not only stem from losing the money, but also telling our kids (who are ALL excited to take this first plane trip and are already counting the days till our supposed trip) that OUR TRIP WILL BE CANCELLED because somebody ran away with our money! How do you make a 10, 9, and 3-year old kid understand that?? Apart from that, what about the VLs filed, the efforts we made like SAVING UP for this trip, making sure that we will have this vacation?!
I started demanding an address and contact person from this manager and said that we will personally go there with the media to expose them. She doesn’t want to give me the address and told me that I should just email them. I demanded several times for the address but she just remained silent until she just put the phone down on me. I tried calling back the number and they couldn’t be reached anymore, which led me to suspect that even eBay kuponan doesn’t have the intentions to give us a refund considering that they were really very unproffessional over the phone.
This SCAM has affected the lives of so many people. We should not stop just because eBay has already refunded our money. We should take actions NOW or else we are going to give these SCAMMERS more lead time to escape with our money.
Anyone who are in the same situation, we can agree to meet up so we can discuss the next steps. Please respond to this message ASAP so as not to waste precious time. The more we wait, the lesser is the chance that these people will get caught.
We hope for everyone’s cooperation.

My co-workers and I had a similar experience. Yung sa amin naman was a Bohol package which cost around 6K/pax. We were fully paid since January 2012, but when we tried to follow-up the confirmation of the flight and hotel, Pacific Link only gave us vague answers. Dumating sa point na hindi na sila sumasagot sa emails, texts and calls namin. Ang dami pa naman namin sa group, more than 15 people. We tried talking to ebay and they gave us a similar response – that they can refund only the amount that was paid to them and not the rest that was paid to Pacific Link.

cathy, call ebay, nirefund nilasakin ung down payment plus yung full payment ko na dineposit ko sa account ng salbaheng iris maureen na yan, in fairness ebay refunded to us the total amount of 5 vouchers we paid, that’s 10,880 x 5 vouchersP54,400.00
di ko talaga tinigilan ang pacific sa kakafollow up ng booking namin, pero nung, naginquire ako sa la carmela, they told me na nobody from pacific link na nakikipag deal sa kanila, naisip ko talagang ubos na pera nila maybe nagamit na sa mga earlier batch na napalakad nila,ewan pati ebay galit ba galit sa knila , imagine pati promoter nila di na nila sinasagot, am just waiting for venj leyco until next week then we’ll ask call gia of abs-cbn to say yes na for the interview. 2 weeks ko na sinabi kay gia ang issue na ito pero hesitant paako nun to be interviewed kc nga im still holding my hope high that time, pero now sumuko na ako, what a sad experience, kahit pa nga narefund na ang binayad namin, grabe pa ring stress ang inabot namin,not to ention those sleepless nights at high long distance calls ko kina aptil sa ilo-ilo, well next time let’s be more careful especially sa mga travel deals… feel free to call me at 09273504942 if you need someone to discuss our sentiments.

Why did not she not report it to authorities? Sorry, just curious about that!
I’ll be SO upset and this would have been my first reaction because I despise people, who takes advantage of hard-working people planning a holiday with their hard earned money. They should be held responsible for the inconvenience your friend and her hubby suffered from.
Thanks for the warning, I’ll past it on to my friends to the Philippines. I’ve been in Boracay more than a decade ago, and very thankful that all arrangements went smoothly.

Sabi ng pacificlink sakin kahapon, irerefund daw nila kahapon yung 4 pax na pina-add ko sa kanila, kung hindi daw aabot kahapon, ngayon daw idedeposit, pero wala akong na-receive, I called April, yung staff nila, sabi ba naman, nawala lang daw siya sa sarili kahapon kaya nya nasabi yun, within this week daw nila irerefund kasi wala pa daw manager nila. They’re so unprofessional to tell me na nawala lang siya sa sarili niya, nakakainis talaga! sobrang nagsisisi ako na nag-avail ako sa kanila and even sa eBay. Hindi man lang pukpukin ng eBay ang agency na kinuha nila.

I am one of the victim too of this boracay deal. Kuponan emailed me this afternoon that what they will refund is only the amount that correspond to 1 coupon. I paid more kasi isasama ko 2 kids and that amount i paid for 2 ay ako na lang daw mag refund sa pacific. Since im from bicol nakabook na ako ng plane tiket namin for 4 on the sched of boracay trip. But since d na matutuloy boracay what will i do in manila for 5 days? Pag pina open ko naman ticket namin ang dai ding charges grrrrr.

Nakakainis ang eBay! Wala rin silang kwenta kagaya ng pacific link, March 26 pa ko nag-request ng refund tapos sabi within a week ko marereceive tapos sabi ngayon next week ko pa makukuha, naunahan pa sila ng pacific link mag-refund. haay wala talagang kwenta. perwisyo lang ang binigay nilang package! asar talaga!

we haven’t received any refund from pacific link nor from ebay kuponn yet…not a single centavo! they keep on telling us that they will refund, but both parties keep postponing. i feel they are just prolonging this and our patience have run out. we have decided to file a formal complaint to NBI against iris maureen pamonag and also the management of ebay kuponan. pls ask ghia of abs-cbn to contact me thru 9576781. i am willing to be interviewed this week.

Hi i’m also a victim of this scam. We have both same situation, i have booking with them on May 4 but until now they didn’t give me any ticket or confirmation. I’ve emailed them but they didn’t answer my email. I know thru the help of all of the victim we can resolve this BIG PROBLEM they brought to us.

Hi Venj.. kinakabahan naku sa mga nabasa ko.. Binili ko ung deal last August 2011. At wala pakung nababasang mga negative comments about sa pacific link.. So akala ko ok ang deal.. Bago ako mag full payment todo reply cla sakin everytime may inquiry ako trough email. Last reply nila sakin last tuesday, April 17, so nag email back ako then wala ng reply..

Nagreply ulit saken sa email si pacificlink at pinafollow up yung payment ko. Ang ginawa ko, tinanong ko yung contact no. nila para makausap sila. Siguro kaya binigay nila dahil sa alam nilang magbabayad na ako.
Pero kapag nagemail ka sa kanila at nagtanong ng mga latest promos nila, walang reply.

They promised to assist in resolving this so please guys write to them at support@metrodeal.com so they could realize how many customers were fooled under their website. They are gonna try to get some leads and info, trace the telephone number that the agency used to communicate with their “victims”.
Come out with any info like your email communication with a certain April or Joy, transactions from your wire transfers to 3 bank accounts of a certain Iris Maureen Pamonag, text messages etc. I still have the certificate of this Iris character that shows she has a legal business that is based in Iloilo City at Gaisano Mall.
I have contacted the NBI inquiring on how to file a legal complaint regarding the scam. I will stop at nothing until I get my money back and put these peole to jail so they could never ever mess with honest people’s hard earned money. I will start researching also on how to get this case to a television news or a probe so they can be exposed of this illegal stuff. Please, let’s do this guys. The more people who complain will make this case more legitimate.

i also bought 3 vouchers, the two vouchers were refunded full through ebay. however, the 3rd voucher, i bought straight from pacificlink. I was told to deposit to Iris Maureen Pamonag account.That was Feb 8 when i deposited full payment and travel dates was apr 11-13. It did not push through, fully booked daw si La carmela. travel dates was moved to May 16-18. It’s May 14 now, still no e-ticket and hotel accom sent to me. I called up La Carmela to confirm if there’s a reservation under my name, NONE. The sad part aside from the 3rd voucher that i paid directly to pacificlink, i also bought vouchers for the promos offered by other establishments in Bora.Like the Zorb promo and the dinner promo in Guillys.

buti pa nga yung mga nag-purchase sa ebay kahit papano naka-refund sila. pano naman yung mga nag-purchase sa metrodeal,di na mare-refund unless magrequest for refund within 5 days from the day it was purchased.so unfair. di birong amount of money. lagot ako sa mga office mates ko. ako pa naman ang nag-purchase at nagpa-book sa metrodeal at pacificlink. and i think metrodeal can do away with it because of the contract posted in their website. how can they (metrodeal) possibly help in refunding our hard-earned money?

Thanks guys for the response. Ms. Pamela, thanks for the email of Mon Tulfo. This is a very useful medium to voice out our concerns. I will write him my complaint and hopefully others will too. The more “victims”coming out the better our chances of being heard. I tried writing the “contact us” portion of Manila Bulletin, Philippine Star, and Inquirer but I haven’t heard from them.
It’s nice to know Ebay took responsibility for the refund of their disgruntled customers. I only hope Metrodeal will do the same thing too. It’s amazing how brazen these people can be to scam customers in broad day light. This is not a petty theft anymore, this is millions of pesos, this is theft of the highest degree that needs to be stopped and the put the people behind jail to rot.
