My Garden: My Sunflower Blooms

Saturday May 26, 2012

I had been on vacation leave for a week and when I got back to work, as usual I am flooded with tons of work, I am not exaggerating. Tons of work with matching stress.

But for today, after that almost 2 hours of travel time from my office in Pasig to my humble abode in Marilao -  my SUNFLOWER in full bloom makes me really smile.

Gardening is my stress reliever, it is also my ME time. A ME time which I badly needed, my garden is where I take refuge after a weeklong stress and pressure from the office. I am just starting with my garden
Mine is just a small garden and I still don’t need a reel lawn mowers, but it is my pride and joy every time a flower bloom and a veggie is harvested.

Pinoy Name Calling

Thursday May 3, 2012

Pinoys are simply the best when it comes to humor and even name calling. It jas already been part of our norms and culture to give a tag or to name call a person based on his physical features or attributes.

Distinct examples are: Tangkad, (tall), Bigote (with mustache), Taray, Ganda, Paa, Amo, Turbo, Bakulaw, Bossing.

These name calls are at times been a replacement from the legal names of the individual.
My siblings and a few close friends call me Laiski (when reverse Kilay). I dont mind my siblings and those few close friends calling me that way. But if we are not yet close, I prefer to be called By my real first name – Cielo.

My POV for as long as it is not offensive and degrading it is fine with me. For as long as the person you are name calling is amenable to it, well that is perfectly fine. But if he does not like the idea of being name called, we must always remember the word : RESPECT.
