As I am writing this post, I am deeply affected and I am in tears. Another natural calamity has stricken our country, this time it is the Northern Mindanao part of the Philippines. I am really saddened and so affected when I saw the pictures of what was left of the typhoon Sendong (Washi). There are many dead people and the extent of physical damage to property is so vast. Many have been left homeless or their houses are all soaked in mud. I was informed by my fellow PMC (Pinay Mommies Community) blogger friends based in Cagayan de Oro and Iligan City that there are scarcity of drinking water cleaning aid to clean the mud stricken houses and construction materials to rebuild their humble homes.
Just like Ondoy, this happened almost when Christmas is just around the corner. Let us bring back Christmas in their lives. Let us help our “kababayans”, despite of the tragedy, let us all show everyone the spirit of “kabayanihan”.

Just like in smoking cigars, some prefers to have mint in flavor and others also consider just strong enough. But don’t you know that there is a sweet flavor as well in cigarettes? Swisher sweet cigars have been living for almost a century and they do have varieties of cigarette sweet flavors you can choose for. Aside from it, they provide good quality and mild product that surely everyone would loved to. This one is perfect for those whom just loved to experience sweet in taste while smoking. cigars, some prefers to have mint in flavor and others also consider just strong enough. Who says that just because I am a woman, I cannot dominate the wonderful world of men. Ever since I worked I had already been involved into Logistics side of the company. In my first work it is more on the parts of the telecoms cell site, casters, vehicle parts and other construction materials. Now it is more on the purchases and inventory of networking and technology peripherals.
For working ladies like me who are in this kind of field dominated by man, just a sisterly advised from someone who does not really have a formal study about it. You can always ask those who knew about it. Don’t be afraid to ask, but still it pays to always research on your own. The Internet has a vast network of knowledge that you can reference on. Be tough, since this is a man’s dominated world be ready for some action and pushing around, but don’t be intimidated, be on your foot and stand on your own – what is important is that you believe in yourself and your capabilities.

For moms looking for extra income specially this coming Christmas season here are some of the home based business that working moms like me can try.
- Baking pastries
- Online selling of shoes, baby items, dresses and just about anything that you can think of (thru Multiply.Com, eBay and FB)
- Creating personalized items (such as calendars, notepad, bag tag, gift tags etc.)
- Making jewelry
I already tried all of the above, but just an unsolicited advice – take advantage of the season but don’t stress yourself. Enjoy!!!

It is now Christmas season, and most of the companies in the Philippines have now given the 13th month pay of their employees. While others just like us are waiting for the bonus announcement and for the release of the dividend share in our company cooperative. During this season I cannot help but remember my loving grandmother, since she would always advise us to buy something valuable for ourselves as a reward for the hard work rendered throughout the whole year. The reason behind this is that – she told us that sooner or later you will realize that the money that you had accumulated from the Christmas money will be gone with the wind because of variable expenses in this season. So might as well spend it on a project (i.e. downpayment for a car or House&Lot, appliances (i.e. panasonic home theater system) or gadgets. You can splurge once in a while as a reward for yourself but do not forget to save a considerable amount for your savings too. That is what we call practical but reasonable spending.
School children in the Philippines face many challenges; sometimes, even the simple walk to school in the morning can be an arduous journey. Students cross rivers, traverse mountain peaks, even go through battlegrounds just to go to school. And when they arrive, they are faced with meager resources – overcrowded classrooms, the lack of books and school supplies – which all make for an uninspiring learning environment.
That is why starting on its 76th year, Procter and Gamble (P&G) Philippines is setting out to make these students’ journey more worthwhile. Taking its commitment to education to the next level, P&G will provide technology and connectivity to Filipino students nationwide with its e.Studyante program.
Along with partner Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) and Synergeia Foundation, the e.Studyante program will provide kids from selected schools with an XO Laptop from the One Laptop per Child (OLPC) Association. The XO laptop is a rugged, low-power, connected laptop especially designed to make learning more engaging and more fun for students.
Students can use their laptops not just to learn but to share and connect with each other, with their communities and with the world – helping them all become an “e.Studyante.”
The goal is simple: Give out 1,000,000 laptops in time for P&G’s 100th year. And you can help.
“For children all over the country, the challenge of education begins even before they step into the classroom. Some have to wake up at the crack of dawn and walk miles through unpaved roads, through woods and rivers, just to get to school. We are doing this for these students. We want to make this journey worthwhile for them by giving them the tool that will place the world’s knowledge at their fingertips – through a laptop and internet connectivity,” said Chad Sotelo, e.Studyante Country Marketing Manager.
“But it’s not something we can do alone,” Sotelo added. “To help us reach our goal of 1,000,000 students, we would like to invite moms all over the country to support the e.Studyante program by buying P&G promo packs.”
Through the “e.Studyante” program, you can help give a child a laptop by buying specially marked P&G promo packs available nationwide. You not only save up to 40%# on your favorite P&G products but you also help provide a child with a world of educational materials and fun activities that will inspire them to learn and achieve even more.
Participating brands include Safeguard, Tide, Pampers, Downy, Ariel, Pantene, Head & Shoulders, Joy, Rejoice, Whisper, Olay, Gillette, Vicks and Ambi-Pur.
Helping those in need has never been easier. You can help make each child’s journey to school more worthwhile. Support the e.Studyante program and help gift each student with a brighter future! Isang laptop, mas malawak na kaalaman, mas magandang bukas.
