Pinoys are simply the best when it comes to humor and even name calling. It jas already been part of our norms and culture to give a tag or to name call a person based on his physical features or attributes.
Distinct examples are: Tangkad, (tall), Bigote (with mustache), Taray, Ganda, Paa, Amo, Turbo, Bakulaw, Bossing.
These name calls are at times been a replacement from the legal names of the individual.
My siblings and a few close friends call me Laiski (when reverse Kilay). I dont mind my siblings and those few close friends calling me that way. But if we are not yet close, I prefer to be called By my real first name – Cielo.
My POV for as long as it is not offensive and degrading it is fine with me. For as long as the person you are name calling is amenable to it, well that is perfectly fine. But if he does not like the idea of being name called, we must always remember the word : RESPECT.

Allow me to be a little sentimental and cheezy as well, such are the usual woes of a member of Pamilyang OFW, I am just done chatting with my OFW hubby and we are talking about our goals and plans..when suddenly my husband told me that – “Life is like a jigsaw puzzles we are always on a quest to find the missing piece, I am glad that I have found mine to complete me. My missing piece is you and our kids”….
Awwww so sweet and awesome, it makes me happy and inspired the more. I really love my husband dearly…He knows how to uplift my spirit when he feels that I am down and so tired from work.

I had read in the news that the Ms. Universe Organizers will already allow transgenders to compete in the Ms. Universe 2013 pageant. It is a knowledge to everyone whom I knew that I love gay people having been surrounded with gay friends and cousins as well, while I have great respect with the transgenders and gay/homosexual friends, I strongly disagree with the implementation of the new rules allowing their entry in the pageant. My point of View about this matter is that Ms. Universe should retain its old rules that only “natural born female” should be allowed to compete. This is not an issue of discrimination, but I just believe that competition which was founded for “natural born female” (i.e Ms. Universe, Ms. Internationa, Ms. World )should remain as such –for real woman.
While I totally respect the opinion and fight of our gay/lesbian friends about this issue, this is also my own honest point of view, but this does not disqualify the fact that I love them and their warm friendship. My gay friends would attest that I had defended that many times, thus I was even coined as “babaeng bakla” or they would lovingly call me “mader”. I am not against them per se, but I am not for the idea.
Let me borrow Sushmita Sen’s winning answer to the Ms. Universe 1994 Q&A : What is the essence of being a woman?
Just being a woman is God’s gift. The origin of a child is a mother, a woman. She shows a man what sharing, caring, and loving is all about. That is the essence of a woman.

Every week prices of gasoline is getting higher and some people cannot anymore afford to use their cars, and I’m one of them. That’s why some people reverted to using a motorcycle in going to places which is a very efficient way. But there is a down side in using a motorcycle like your directly under the sun and it’s an accident prone especially on a highway. Accidents can be avoided with the proper safety steps like checking your avon motorcycle tires if it has the proper air pressure, using safety gears and driving in the assigned motorcycle lanes. Riding motorcycles can be fun, if your wise and safe.

I am attempting really hard to lose weight; it is more because of health reason. I am at my biggest weight as of the moment and I can already feel the effect of it. I know for a fact that health and weight are strongly connected to each other. I am still not keen in taking weightless supplement (i.e. slimvox, xenical, pretty model).
I am quite successful in refraining from drinking soft drinks. I am really trying hard to be discipline – for the past 2 weeks – it is either half cup of rice or no rice at all. Yesterday was a very triumphant day to me. My family and I celebrated the wedding anniversary of my parents in an “eat all you can” resto. Surprisingly, I was able to eat moderately – veggies and fish only.
I am still to weigh and measure myself for improvement. I am keeping my fingers cross that I will successfully lose weight and may I be able to retain the discipline to have a healthy diet too.

PAGASA announced that today (April 21, 2012) was the hottest temperature recorded in Manila for this year. The temperature was a scorching hot of 35.9 degress celcius and it was recorded in the afternoon.
During summer season there are always chances of suffering from heat stroke and prone to heat exhaustion. Though summer is fun let us be cautious of the heat of the sun. Drinking water should always come very handy too.
Although we did not really feel the heat since we are inside the mall buying roman shades for our window. How about you, where are you during the time that the temperature hit a high 35.9 degress celcius.

1. If you could change something about your home, without worry about expense or mess, what would you do?
It is almost one year now that we had transferred to our new home but still we haven’t unpack some of the boxes. Given the liberty of time, I will have it arranged. But unfortunately not as of the moment, the working Momma is too tired to be a super wonder mom this time. Right now, weekends are spent making up for the lost time with my kids.
2. If you could meet any one person (from history or currently alive), who would it be?
It will be Pope John Paul II, he greatly influence me ever since that I am a kid. For me he is not just our Pope, he is my Lolo, Santa Claus, charismatic spiritual leader. When he visited our country as a Pope twice, my family and I never missed a chance to attend his mass. Though he is far, yet he is so near in my heart.
3. What is the last movie that you saw at the cinema?
The last movie was No Other Woman, we seldom watch movie and we opt to just stay at home and do the movie marathon with the kiddos.
4. Name something you lost or gave away that can never be replaced.
Our wedding ring, I remember that my husband and I pawned it since our eldest kid was sick. Unfortunately we are not able to have it back because of financial problems. {Just a brief background: we are part of the young teen marriage, who got married before we were able to finish our degree and thanks God we are able to bounce back and graduate. (blogged about it here)}
But I really never regret doing it since my daughter is far more important than any material things in this world. Our wedding ring is just a symbol; our marriage is the real thing. 19 years after, I am still very much inlove and happily married.
5. What is your favorite magazine or publication?
I have a collection of magazines and included in my lists are : Smart parenting, Good Housekeeping and Entrepreneur Magazine. (blogged about it here)

Aside from my son’s obsession with the sports Taekwondo. He is also keen on learning to play the guitar. Actually the influence came from his cousins who are also planning to take guitar and keyboard class this summer. I am still cross between Kumon and guitar lesson. But from the looks of it, my Icko is more inclined into taking his guitar lesson for this summer – he just can’t take his eyes away from the Charvel that he saw in the magazine.
Well, we still have 2 weeks to decide. Whatever it will be my husband and I will be supporting him all throughout.
How about you, what will be your kid’s summer activity?

For Moms who are in the lookout for beds for their kids. Consider this design of twin over full bunk bed which I have found in the web. Unlike other bunk bed designs this one has built in cabinets which is a good buy for organizing your kiddie things and even mess. It could actually sleep three kids. I love how the drawers are built as a stairs. I hope that there will be available beds like this locally.
Buying one is not only practically it is also adds aesthetic value to your home.
